Políticamente correcto /Politically Correct

Hace unos días me pasaron un pequeño texto sobre lo "políticamente correcto". Este texto estaba en inglés y se refería a Estados Unidos. Era una lista de algunas palabras calificadas de políticamente incorrectas que han sido sustituidas por otras. Un ejemplo muy conocido es el de negro (black) sustituido por afroamericano (African-American).

Pero lo curioso no termina ahí. Mientras que en España algunas voces piden que exista una clara diferencia de sexos (médico/médica, bombero/bombera, estudiante/estudianta, idiota/idioto, etc), en EEUU se tiende hacia lo contrario. Algunos norteamericanos entienden la existencia de dos géneros en el vocabulario como algo discriminatorio. Ya no se dice policeman y policewoman (hombre y mujer policía), sino police officer (agente de policia).

Pero esta lista, viendola detenidamente, llegó a ser graciosa. Cómica diría yo. He aquí algunos ejemplos:

*Tomato picker --> Tomato officer
- Recolector de tomates --> Oficial/agente de tomates

*Prostitute --> Sex care provider
- Prostituta --> Proveedora de cuidados sexuales

*Fart-->Ecological expression
- Peo --> Expresión ecológica

*Ugly --> Cosmetically different
- Feo --> Cosméticamente diferente

*Homeless person -->Mortgage-free outdoor dweller
-Sin hogar, sin techo --> Habitante exterior libre de hipoteca

*Man-->Testosterone person
-Hombre--> Persona con testosterona

* Woman-->Vaginal person
- Mujer --> Persona... (no necesita traducción)

*Tomboy-->Testosteroned Vaginal person
-Marimacho-->Persona.. (tampoco creo que necesite traducirse)

*Prisoner --> Client of correctional system
-Prisionero-->Cliente del sistema correcional

* Alcoholic --> Anti-sobriety activist
Alcohólico-->activista anti sobriedad

*Bisexual-->Sexually confused
-Bisexual-->Sexualmente confundido

*Hurricane--> Himmicane
-Esta es, a mi gusto, de las más originales. Al pronunciar Hurricane, la primera sílaba suena como Her (determinante posesivo femenino. Su, de ella). Así que la cambián por Him (Su, de él)

Mi amigo norteamericano, que me pasó esta lista, me dijo que la mayor parte de esta lista se sigue usando con los términos tradicionales. Muchas ideas son definidas empleando las palabras de la izquierda.

Some days ago I received a small text about the "politically correct". This text was written in English y was about USA. It was a list of politically incorrect/correct words. I found examples as black and African-American.

It is curious. In Spain, progresist people, say that we must difference men and women when we are speaking. For example medico/médica (doctor) or bombero/bombera (fireman....upss!!. Do you prefer Fire fighter? :) ).

In US, people think different. They want to eliminate all the differences between men and women. They change policeman and policewoman with police officer.

But in the list that i received, reading it from the beginning to the end, it was fun. Comical. Here some examples (some of them are comicals, and other ones are normal)

My northamerican friend (he sent me this list) told me that he didn't know the words of this list. Only some of them. And most of times he uses the original word.
