El espacio vital. The essential space

La campaña publicitaria del nuevo Seat Altea posee un slogan que me ha llamada la atención - quizá sea esa la finalidad de un slogan -. Respta tu espacio vital, dice. Pero...¿cuál es nuestro espacio vital?.

Las ciudades cada vez están más colapsadas. Las viviendas son cada vez más caras y más pequeñas. Cada día nos cruzamos con multitud de personas por la calle, pero nos sentimos como si caminaramos solos.

Cada vez somos más. Nos parecemos a un hormiguero. Miles y miles de hormigas, cada una de ellas con su propio objetivo. Su propio trabajo, cada vez más especializado. Cada vez más único. Pero sin embargo, cualquiera es prescindible. Ni por tí, ni por mí, se va a parar el ritmo de la ciudad. Entonces, ¿Qué sentido tienen las ciudades?. Cada vez menos espacio para vivir, cada vez un estresante ritmo mayor, cada vez más solos entre tanta gente, cada vez más prescindibles.

¿Qué animal sobre la faz de la tierra, a parte del ser humano, le gusta vivir así? Creo que el ser humano es muy estúpido. Y lo digo yo que soy uno de ellos - ser humano, claro está-.

¿Se nota que he estado mucho tiempo por el monte y la playa y llevo poco tiempo en la ciudad?

Some days ago I saw on TV the new announce of the Seat Altea. I paid atention to this slogan - perhaps, it is the objetive of a slogan -. Respect your essential space, it says. But... What's our essential space?.

Cities are fuller each time. Houses are more expensive and smaller. Everyday we are walking along the streets into a crew, but we feel we were walking alone.

Each time we are more. Cities looks like an anthill. Thousands and thousands persons, each one with a diferent objetive. His own job, each time more specific. Unique. But, however, everyone isn't really important. For you, for me, the city doesn't stop. Then, What's the mean of living in cities? Less space to live, alone in the crew, nobody is important...

What animal, around the world, likes living like this? I think humans are stupid. I said that, because I'm one of them - a human -.

Have you noticed that I have been much time in the mountain and on the beach, and I have just arrived to the city? I don't like come back to the city again.
